Sometimes, people will say to me, "Ashlea, Dead Meat is without doubt the dumbest thing in the world! How did you ever come up with such a dumb, dumb idea?" And to those people, I say, "FUCK YOU!!" But as a matter of fact, the truth is quite different.

I will not name names, but once upon a time, I read a fanfic which postulated Subaru and Kamui as brothers, and Seishirou as their father. All I can say is that the potential for comedy in such a state of affairs was too great for me to have possibly resisted. Please note, however, that I did not intend this in any way as a judgement on the story in question; I just thought it was funny. And my thinking about this for too long, combined with my being very tired and probably drunk, led to the inception of Dead Meat in its original form: namely, a very weird takeoff on Red Meat about the adventures of the Sakurazuka family, if by "adventures" you mean "repeating the same panel over and over with occasional one-liners."

These are different from the present form of Dead Meat in that there's a definite order, and a beginning and an end. So, uh, read 'em in order, if you must read them at all.
